I have CRTP enabled on my router because of low bandwidth. In "show interface summary" I see OQD (pkts dropped from output queue.) Is this affecting voice quality? QUESTION POSED ON: 21 JUL 2003
QUESTION ANSWERED BY: Carrie Higbie There have been enhancements to CRTP. The key to the packets dropped is to see if the number dropped remains at 70% or above as a percentage of packets. They are dropped, generally, because the queue is getting packets faster than it can deliver them. This is a tunable parameter and it can be tuned via the hold-queue interface command. The queue parameters are expressed as number of packets on output queue/current size of the output queue. Related Topics:
