Now that SOX is fully required, what's the next big challenge for companies and organizations?
QUESTION POSED ON: 09 OCT 2006 QUESTION ANSWERED BY:
Ed Tittel
SOX isn't a done deal just yet. While most publicly-traded companies went through SOX audits in 2005, not all of them passed their audits without requirements for remediation. For these companies, 2006 is remediation year, after which another round of follow-up SOX audits will follow. For these organizations, SOX remains a primary focus, and will continue to do so until their audits are completed successfully. There's also some need to have explanations ready to account for such deficiencies and how their remediation will address them, should regulatory oversight result in request for further information.
