As I struggle with the W3C's XML Schema specification, I keep reading more about RELAX NG, and wondering if it might not be worth switching over to that environment. What's the skinny here? Is this worth doing?

Apparently, you're not the only practicing XML professional who's wondering if it's better to switch to RELAX NG than to fight with XML Schema. According to no less an XML luminary than Elliotte Rusty Harold (quoted from Robin Cover's RELAX NG coverage and mentioned in IBM developerWorks, 11/23/2005): "The RELAX NG XML Schema language has achieved huge success over the past three years; this is due in large part to its incredibly clean and straightforward syntax, especially compared to the W3C XML Schema language." Couldn't have said it better myself, and with nowhere near as much credibility. The Cover Pages link provided above is also a great resource to start learning more, and includes pointers to all the good stuff on this great tool.
