QUESTION POSED ON: 16 December 2005
How can I reset SST user passwords?

>
EXPERT RESPONSE
With the exception of the QSECOFR service tools ID (IBM calls the SST user IDs "service tools IDs") you have to go into SST itself. There's a short, but very useful manual on the IBM Information Center called iSeries Service Tools that will walk you through the process. In the manual, look for the heading "Change service tools user IDs and passwords." If you are looking to reset the QSECOFR service tool ID password, you can use the Change DST Password (CHGDSTPWD) i5/OS command. Again, you'll find documentation on this command in the aforementioned manual.
