Is the CCSP a prerequisite for the CISSP or CISM? QUESTION POSED ON: 30 NOV 2005
QUESTION ANSWERED BY: David Minutella The CCSP isn't exactly a prerequisite for the CISSP or CISM. There is overlap in several concepts such as the need for security policies, how to design a secure infrastructure, and cryptography methodologies. However, beyond that, the CCSP focuses on the Cisco security appliances.

The CISSP and CISM are both very credible and marketable certifications. The CISSP, however, might achieve a higher level of prestige within the Infosec realm because you require four years of Infosec experience to achieve the certification. Both certifications require that you maintain your security competency by requiring that you submit for continuing education credits. Related Topics:
