Mark Hinkle - vice president and CIO, NeTraverse
Mark R. Hinkle is the vice president and CIO of NeTraverse, the maker of Win4Lin, the Windows-to-Linux migration software that allows you to run your Windows applications on the Linux operating system. Mark also is the Editor in Chief of LinuxWorld Magazine, where he shares his expertise on Windows-to-Linux desktop migration.
Mark was also a member of the formation board of the Desktop Linux Consortium. Before entering the world of Linux software, he was the director of technical support for EarthLink, where he managed a 2,500-person technical support staff, which supported over 4 million Windows desktop users. His experience and passion lies in helping Windows users obtain the same or better satisfaction with Linux as they have had with other operating systems while improving their quality of computing life. He is currently writing a book to be published by Charles River Media tentatively titled Linux Business Desktop Migration for the Windows User; it is due by mid-2005.
