I have installed SUS on a MS 2003 Server and the Win2k machines are receiving the updates fine but the XP machines with SP1 are not. I loaded a new XP machine with no patches and it received updates. I believe that there is a conflicting problem with XP SP1 and SUS, is there a solution or fix to this problem? QUESTION POSED ON: 17 JUL 2003
QUESTION ANSWERED BY: Rod Trent You should be running Windows XP SP1. There are no issues between SUS and XP SP1. I'd suggest going back to make sure the AutoUpdate settings are configured correctly on the Windows XP workstations. Also, check to see if the Internet Connection Firewall is enabled, and if so, that the proper ports are open to communicate with the SUS server. Also, verify that ActiveX controls are able to run on the Windows XP computers.
