I have a strange problem with ICM and the URLs. If I type the ICM hostname followed by, for example, webadmin.nsf, I get to choose which server I want to start the webadmin. When I click the link, it doesn't work.

When I type "names.nsf," I also get the error "page not found." It seems to me like there is something wrong with the cluster/ICM. Can you help me with the troubleshooting? QUESTION POSED ON: 19 APR 2006
QUESTION ANSWERED BY: Mathew Newman Typically this issue occurs when the Domino server is running both ICM and HTTP tasks. To correctly configure your server so that it can perform both roles, you need to complete the ICM configuration in your server document AVOIDING setting up the ICM and HTTP services with the same address and port numbers.

Basically what is happening is the HTTP and ICM tasks are becoming confused as to which machine should be serving the information you are requesting. The ICM knows the addresses of all the Internet Cluster Members -- including the LOCAL HTTP server. The native HTTP task wants to farm out the local database, but the ICM is taking precedence and attempting to redirect the request to an available Internet Cluster Member. Theoretically you end up in a loop (although it doesn't actually happen) where the ICM knows it is a Web server itself, and it catches the request it has just directed to itself. That's why you need the ICM either listening on a separate IP or port, as indicated in help.

See Domino administrator help in the Contents under "Clusters\Clustering Domino Servers that run Internet Protocols\Configuring the ICM" for exact details and recommendations on setting up your Domino Server correctly for ICM.
