When setting the percentages for PercentAvailSysResources on multiple Domino servers, do I need to make sure that the percent assigned to each server is large enough to allow enough memory for the size defined in the NSF_BUFFER_POOL_SIZE_MB setting (or least sufficient to allow 750 MB)? QUESTION POSED ON: 18 APR 2006
QUESTION ANSWERED BY: Mathew Newman Couple of things here. The Percent AvailSystResources is "discouraged" by Lotus as a setting for a Domino 5.0.12+ (including 6 and 7) servers. Second, the NSF_BUFFER_POOL_SIZE_MB setting takes precedence anyway if both settings are used.

There are a couple of good resources that I can point you to that explain these variables and their effect on performance, rather than replicating that information here.

Professor.INI on Notes.Net has written about the topic a couple of times, see the following links:

Those articles also point to a great tech description written by Scott Hopper of IBM (Lotus).

Hope this helps.
