The industry segment that has embraced outsourcing with the greatest enthusiasm and acceptance has clearly been the telecommunications industry. They were the early adopters in the space with initial simple-to-execute outbound projects to acquire new consumer subscribers. This soon grew to both inbound and outbound consumer sales calls, and then to business-to-business sales calls. Customer service was always considered more complex and difficult to execute in a quality fashion, yet with pressures on the bottom line in a very competitive market most companies now outsource a considerable amount of their customer service as well.
