I am currently working in .NET technology. How does stability look in terms of jobs in IT? Is this language sufficient or do I need to change to some other language? QUESTION POSED ON: 10 NOV 2005
QUESTION ANSWERED BY: Ed Tittel Microsoft is putting substantial investment, emphasis and effort into the .NET environment. Thus, as goes Microsoft, so also goes .NET. I think this makes it as safe a bet as any wagering person could want and makes it a decent wagon to which you might hitch your career. That said, the real issues to ponder have more to do with how much YOU like working with .NET or whether there are other alternatives (such as Java as an obvious example) that might appeal to you more. My advice is to follow your interests whenever possible, because they will keep you interested and motivated long after the thrill of a new job, bigger paycheck or more alphabet soup to put on your business card fades away.

HTH, and thanks for posting.
