It seems I have w32.spybot.worm on my computer. I picked it up almost as soon as I installed a new hard drive. I reformatted, but still have it. I have run Norton Antivirus, which told me I had the virus, but it does not seem to be able to find any more. I was told it is probably located in memory now. Can you recommend an antivirus program that can remove it? I keep getting a Messenger Service pop-up that warns of system problems with Web sites to visit to fix them. I realize these are generated by the virus. Help me please! QUESTION POSED ON: 29 AUG 2005
QUESTION ANSWERED BY: Puneet Mehta Symantec is the best as far as the antivirus software is concerned. I wonder if you have the updated virus definitions/signatures installed. Kindly update the definitions and do a full scan. Also, here's a complete guide to removing the worm from your computer. Follow the instructions as mentioned, and it should do what's needed.
