We have Exchange 5.5. I recovered a public folder from backup that was done in January. The domain which contains the Exchange Service administrator and administrator account was retired in February. We are using Veritas Backup Execute 9.1 for backup and restore. After restoring the information, we cannot view the contents of the sub folders that have very restrictive permissions on them. QUESTION POSED ON: 07 JUL 2005
QUESTION ANSWERED BY: David Sengupta I'd suggest that you use a third-party solution such as Quest Recovery Manager for Exchange. Basically, this will let you open the EDB file from the Veritas backup media (or once you've restored it to disk, depending on the consistency of the database), then search for all content in that public folder and restore it either to your existing production public folder hierarchy, to a PST or to a production mailbox.

Hope that helps!
