We are experiencing more and more issues with large attachments in our users' mail files. We would like to create an agent in our mail.box that will e-mail us the user's name, attachment size and who it was sent to if it's over 5 MB. Is this possible and does this agent already exist? QUESTION POSED ON: 13 JUN 2005
QUESTION ANSWERED BY: Mathew Newman Agents cannot be run within the mail.box automatically. However, you could create a "Before new mail arrives" or "After new mail has arrived" agent in your users' mail databases, which examines the size of the attachments in the unprocessed documents and sends the e-mail message you have indicated to another user or alternatively to a reporting database, specifically for the purpose you mentioned.

Also be aware that it is possible through the mail reporting tools to run reports to identify the top 25 messages, senders or receivers by size to identify when and where the messages are transferred, but not necessarily the details of each individual message. For a solution that reports on each individual transaction, you would be looking at an option such as my previous recommendation.
