I have Domino client 6.5.1 running on Windows XP. Some e-mails contain images that do not display properly, I have frame with a cross inside instead. On Windows 2000 and the same release of Notes, these images are shown normally.

Check the users location preferences, and also the Notes preferences to compare the configuration between the two installations.
Quite often -- especially with HTML e-mail messages -- images are not loaded correctly due to the browser settings involved. If your current Notes location has "Notes" as the default Web browser, you should include your proxy settings to have Notes successfully resolve the HTTP-based images referenced in the message. If the browser is "Notes with Internet Explorer" or "Internet Explorer" and the browser works correctly, but you are still having this issue with e-mail, check the Notes preferences to ensure "Show in-line MIME images as attachments" is turned off.
To access this option:
- File --> Preferences --> User Preferences
- On the "Basics" tab locate the "Additional Options."
- In this list locate "Show In-line MIME images as attachments" and make sure it is turned off (i.e., no tick next to it).
- You may have to restart the Notes client before the change takes effect.
