In ND6, the toolbar configuration is stored in the bookmark database on the local user's workstation (bookmark.nsf), in the "Favorites" bookmark folder as the entry entitled "Welcome" and also on the Notes workspace (where it's called "Bookmarks"), located under the "Databases" bookmark folder.
To replace the design of this database, go to the Notes Workspace (Choose the "Databases" bookmark folder, and then click "Workspace"), right-click the "Bookmark" chicklet and from the shortcut menu that appears, point to "Database," and then choose "Refresh Design."
You will need to restart the Notes client before testing whether the toolbars have been repaired.
An alternative to this process is longer and more tedious, but will at least repair the toolbars while maintaining the users bookmark configuration. This option is NOT recommended as the preferred option and should only be considered as a last resort.
- Choose [File] --> [Preferences] --> [ToolBar Preferences].
- Deselect the option to "Show Context Sensitive toolbar."
- Choose [File] --> [Preferences] --> [ToolBar Preferences].
- Deselect the option to "Show toolbars."
- Restart the Notes Client.
- Choose [File] --> [Preferences] --> [ToolBar Preferences].
- Select the Button to "Restore All Defaults."
- Restart the Notes Client.
- Choose [File] --> [Preferences] --> [ToolBar Preferences].
- Select the option to "Show toolbars."
- Choose [File] --> [Preferences] --> [ToolBar Preferences].
- Select the option to "Show Context Sensitive toolbar."
- Restart the Notes Client.
You should be back to the default toolbar configuration, with everything working normally.
To do a COMPLETE replacement of the users toolbars (which will also "lose" their existing bookmarks), close the Notes client, delete bookmark.nsf (NOT bookmark.ntf!!) and restart Notes.
