I get multiple return receipts for the same mail sent out only once from my personal inbox to a particular person. How does that happen? QUESTION POSED ON: 02 JUN 2005
QUESTION ANSWERED BY: Mathew Newman Typically this occurs when the recipient has configured their mail file to create a copy of the inbound message. Through mail rules, users can either copy a message to a folder in their mail file or forward the message to another address.

Since this creates a duplicate copy of the e-mail message, two return receipts are going to be sent from that user. Check with the recipient to make sure that you are not in one of their mail rules to either copy or forward e-mail messages from you.
