I am a neophyte with respect to TCP/IP, having only had one introductory course involving Novell's implementation. Are there any products on the market that simulate troubleshooting TCP/IP, or is a live network the only solution to learning this aspect of network administration? Also, what resources would you recommend for someone with such limited experience? QUESTION POSED ON: 01 JUN 2005
QUESTION ANSWERED BY: Shahar Mor I do not think you can build "troubleshooting skills" on a dummy network, since real problems are more difficult on real networks.

The Web is full of good resources to learn TCP/IP. Your basic Novell implementation should be good introduction, since TCP/IP is standard (so both Novell and Windows will have the same concepts of addresses, routing, name resolving and so on).

Here's a good resource center I found.
