Every 160 hours (approximately) my WinXP Pro system gets a BSOD. It reports a driver error with SCSIPORT.SYS, which I think is bogus. Prior to the BSOD, the PC starts having intranetwork access errors.

Also, when I switch to my running copy of Outlook, there is a 7- to 10-second delay before the screen comes up. Sometimes trying to send an e-mail produces a similar delay before the Sender address text box is active for input. QUESTION POSED ON: 09 MAR 2005
QUESTION ANSWERED BY: Bernie Klinder Ah, two questions for the price of one!

There are a number of issues that can cause the SCSIPORT.SYS error in Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows 2003 Server. It would be really incredibly helpful to know the content of your blue screen error. There are a number of hotfixes available for the known issues, and I would recommend running Windows Update to make sure your system is current. If it is, you may have a file corruption issue, and I would recommend running the System File Checker utility from the command prompt to verify the integrity of your system files.

It's hard to say from the information provided what the problem could be with Outlook. I'm assuming here that you are talking about the full version of Outlook and not Outlook Express, but I would start by either inserting my Office CD and choosing a repair option or by going to the Office Update Web site and making sure that you have all of the latest patches for Office. To troubleshoot the issue further, I need to know which specific version of Outlook you are running. Write me back with more details, and I'll see if I can help.
