I need to map IDOC segment field on the basis of some condition. I am able to use BD79 and have successfully implemented various options (like Copy Sender Filed, Convert Sender field in BD79), but not general rule techniques or conversion exit techniques.

I need to have a complex condition made for a segment field. Can you help? QUESTION POSED ON: 20 SEP 2004
QUESTION ANSWERED BY: Matthew Billingham What problems were you having with the General Rule and conversion exits? What was happening when you tried it? Can you also tell me details of the complex conditions you are trying to implement?

Member response:
Can you please let me know the message type for Inquiry/Customer inquiry? I have used the message type "REQOTE," but with no success. I have done all the required NACE settings, as well, but still could not generate the IDOC. Kindly help.

Matt's answer:
I've investigated and discussed the issue with colleagues, and we feel that a user exit is the only way forward. It is certainly the solution we would go for.
