Wondering if you have any experience with enterprise-level adware/spyware defense solutions that include both cleanup and preventative measures? Our users have been getting slammed with all manner of this malware, and the only tools we have available to us are cleanup tools (Adaware, Spybot, etc.), many of which are nowhere near 100% reliable.
We currently use Symantec AV v8.x in a centrally managed environment; rumor has it that v9 will incorporate some adware/spyware defense, but that it will be a token effort, at best.
Are there any other companies that are taking the lead (for enterprise customers) on the fight against spy-/adware?

Yes -- check out the corporate solution from PestPatrol (now CA), which seems to work well.
